Not every brand begins with a business plan.

Some begin with a personal story.

WELL N WELL was never created because plant-based was trending. It was born from lived experience and from witnessing the health challenges of our founder’s late mother, DT Sasanti.

Her journey changed how we saw food. It made wellness personal. It forced us to question what we were consuming, what we were normalising, and what we were calling “healthy.”

This brand is a tribute not just in name, but in intention.

 

Where We Started

  • WELL N WELL did not begin as a plant-based brand.

    Our first formulations were dairy-based. We flavoured with vegetables. We sweetened with xylitol in an effort to make better choices. We believed we were improving.

    But something still felt incomplete.

    The cycle hadn’t truly been broken.

    So we paused.

    We studied health trends.
    We analysed consumer behaviour.
    We asked difficult questions about ingredients, long-term health, and sustainability.

    Most importantly, we stayed honest with ourselves.

The Storm Before the Shift

The journey was not smooth.

  • We faced financial challenges.
    We experienced the July unrest.
    Covid-19.
  • Business Closure

Like many South African businesses, we were tested beyond what we imagined.

There were moments when walking away would have been easier.

But resilience became our foundation.

Instead of quitting, we chose to learn.

For two more years, we trialled.
We failed.
We reformulated.
We refined.

Behind the scenes, there was pressure, sweat and tears. But there was also growth.

Eventually, clarity came through alignment.

Plant-based was not a trend for us, it was a natural progression of our values.

We launched our plant-based range because it aligned with our commitment to both people and planet.

Today, WELL N WELL pioneers innovative and sustainable products designed to nurture human health while respecting the environment.
